Diagnosis

• Difficult to culture mainly due to the difficulty of culturing the slow-growing organism in the lab
• Complete medical evaluation:

1. A medical history
2. A chest X-ray
3. A physical examination

• Tuberculosis radiology
  
• Tuberculin skin test (depends on the person’s risk factors for infection)
• Serological test
• Microbiological smears and cultures
